Church

Steve's energy level changes quickly. He has been having a few good hours a day, but then he'll suddenly be out of energy. We had hoped to make it to church last night, but just about the time to leave, he crashed.

We're getting the DVD's of the service, and we watched one last night. But, it's just not the same as being there, worshipping together. We've taken that time for granted. We're so blessed in this country to be able to gather together freely, unlike so many of our brothers and sisters around the world. Do I appreciate that enough?

"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care." Psalm 95:6-7

Dear Steve and Sheri,

I am so grateful to hear that Steve is having a few good hours and even considered getting out to go to church! We do take for granted the freedom and joy we have in this country to gather for worship.

Keep on sharing your thoughts and experiences. Someone will read your words and return to regular worship.

I promise to prayerfully think of you as I spend time in worship, until you are able to join us again.
Love,
Bettye

Dear Steve & Sheri,
Your steps forward everyday are amazing.
You are never more than a moment away in thoughts, and constantly in prayer.
I too am grateful to hear Steve is having a few good hours.
Enjoy the DVD's. You may not be there physically, but all arms are wrapped around you emotionally, mentally,& physically.
What pillars of streghth you are, through him.
love,
Marcy

Steve and Sheri,

I just finished my midday prayers, reading this meditation by Thomas Merton. I prayed this for you both:

"Take my life into Your hands, at last, and do whatever You want with it. I give myself to Your love and mean to keep on giving myself to Your love - rejecting neither the hard things nor the pleasant things You have arranged for me. It is enough for me that You have glory. Everything You have planned is good. It is all love....
And if you send me rest, I will in You.
Only same me from myself. Save me from my own, private, poisonous urge to change everything, to act without reason, to move for movement's sake, to unsettle everything You have ordained. Let me rest in Your will and be silent. Then the light of Your joy will warm my life. Its fire will burn in my heart and shine for Your glory. This is what I live for. Amen. Amen.
Love you in the Spirit,
Kenny
