Wednesday night, July 23

It's been quite a day. This morning, the home-care nurse came to explain what they do. That was difficult. All the pictures in their brochures are of old people. Steve's 41. I felt like I was listening to her from outside of my body somewhere.

Practically speaking, though, they will provide some very helpful services until the time that Steve is healed (however God chooses to do that). Tomorrow, they will be bringing a wheelchair. That'll be useful if he's up to going to church, or an outing. He gets tired so easily. Just taking a shower wears him out.

This afternoon, Steve's pain was very bad. I think we waited too long between pain meds. Once that kicked in, he did better.

We are very hopeful about some of the alternative things we're doing. Steve's uncle is a Doctor of Eastern Medicine, and is putting lots of time into designing Steve's treatment plan. His parents are sifting through the abundance of information and spending all their time researching.

But our real hope is in the Lord.

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust." Psalm 91:1-2

Good morning Andy, Charlie, Sheri and Steve,

We are praying for Steve and all of you each and every day. God has you all in the palm of his hand.

Although the homecare/hospice may seem a bit frightening, you're right they can be very helpful. Been there.

I encourage you to continue doing the things before you, stay hopeful and continue trusting in the Lord as you are doing. Walking by faith and not by sight. You are doing all the right things! You're all in our hearts, thougths and prayers.

We hope to see you soon.

In Him,

Sheri, Steve, Andy, & Charlie:
As Mom and I go through this valley with you. I am reminded of what Job said after he went through a simpler valley. When he came out of his valley he was able to say: “I had heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” Job 42:5. This will draw us closer to God, as we follow Him. “I know them, and they follow me.” “God will meet all your needs”. He has provided our greatest need “Salvation”. What a Glorious, Sovereign God we have. The only thing we can do at this time is trust and depend on Him to fulfill His promises.

Love you,
Mom and Dad

Steve,
The hospice folks are wonderful people and extremely qualified. My mom worked with Dallas hospice for years, and sometimes I went and helped too. They are a blessing. I have added a few more scans to the snb blog, and there are others going down into the old posts if you get a chance; These bring a smile to my face, and I hope yours too. You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Love ya.

Dearest Steve and Sheri,

Our prayers are with you and your family. I am truly amazed how during this difficult time in your life you continue your ministry to influence others to grow closer or gain a relationship to Christ Jesus. Steve, you have always been gifted to share your witness and celebrate the joy in having The Relationship. That is what makes you so special to everyone. Most of us take our faith so serious we don't take time to celebrate with laughter but you show us how to do that.

Phil 3:3-For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh

Thanks for reminding us that God provides all the strength, courage and wisdom. When I think of Steve and Sheri I think of the following:

Phil 1:27-Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

Remain strong through Him.

All our love,

Stephen & Vickie Arnold

It sure is comforting knowing His plan is perfect. Thank you for taking the time to keep us up to date to see how His plan unfolds.
