Tuesday, 5:45 PM

We continue to be amazed at how the body of Christ is responding to us with so much love. Give Him all the glory. We are blessed.

Look what else God has done - two of the pastors from Egypt "just happened" to be in town this week for something. They are coming to our house this evening to pray over Steve. Wow.

Our visits with Kenny are so encouraging. We just can't praise God enough for all He's doing in this. Yes, we're weary and shell-shocked. No, we don't like this; we HATE the cancer. But, we see God's hand moving all around us.

Pray that tonight, as the pastors pray over Steve, that God would graciously, miraculously HEAL.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Steve & Sheri,

We are praying for you guys and know that God will be glorified as you hope. Please know that we hold you close in our hearts and are praying for your healing. I am amazed that the Egyptian pastors "just happened" to be in town now; I wonder what God is up to?

If you have any practical needs that we might assist with, please contact your old friend from MIT at kimjones68@verizon.net. I am available as you need for errands, grocery shopping, etc.

Knowing He is surrounding you with His love every minute,
Kim (Kimbo)

O lord, you turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. Psalm 30:11,12

Seeing how God is pouring His love on you and caring for you in this trial, I was reminded of another story that was shared with me recently. Be sure the sound is turned up on your computer....

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together' To which, his father said 'Yes".

For those who don't know; Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometers) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together. Here's video footage of the duo - 4.36 minutes. 1,470,172 view(s)

The son's name is Brian Trainor, 36 years old from Maryland. I hope it touches you as it did me:

Steve and Sheri,
I'm currently working my way through "My Upmost For His Highest" and wanted to share this morning's devotional with you.

"The Discipline of Spiritual Perseverance"

Perseverance is more than endurance. It is endurnace combined with absolute assurance and certainty that what we are looking for is going to happen. Perseverance means more than just hanging on, which may be only exposing our fear of letting go and falling. Perseverance is our supreame effort of refusing to believe that our Hero is going to be conquered... Then there is the call to spiritual perseverance. A call not to hang on and do nothing, but to work deliberatedly, knowing with certainty that God will never be defeated.

If our hopes seem to be experiencing disappointment right now, it simply means that they are being purified. Every hope or dream of the human mind will be fulfilled if it is noble and of God. But one of the greatest stresses in life is the stress of waiting for God. He brings fulfillment, "because you have kept My command to persevere..." (Revelation 3:10).

Continue to persevere spiritulally.

"Be still, and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10)

Love,
Virginia <><
