Monday morning, July 21

Well, looks like we'll be going home this morning. Steve slept fairly well, but woke up at 5 with pain. We seem to have the right meds for that, though.

To be real honest, we’re both a little nervous about going home. I’m concerned about managing pain. They have referred us to hospice care (I HATE that word, so will refer to it as home-care from now on). Anyway, the home-care will be available 24/7 to come to the house and help with that. I think the nervous part is that we know we have a battle ahead, and don’t know exactly what to expect.

Praise! Our precious Kenny Marchetti is flying in from New York to see Steve today. That’s a huge encouragement to us. We look forward to praying and talking with him.

We’re also encouraged by some of the alternative methods we’re learning about. Some of which we’ll be able to get started as soon as we get home today.

Please continue to lift us up. Pray that we’ll adjust well to being home, and be able to manage the pain. Pray also for healing (God CAN do that!), and for Charlie and Andy. Pray that we’ll be faithful to this calling.

Thanks for all the calls, visits, emails, and texts. Sorry that we can’t reply to all, but each one is an encouragement. I’m hoping that Steve will rest well at home. So, as much as we love to see everyone, please call first to make sure Steve’s up to a visit.

We rest in God’s sovereignty, and know He is good.

Hey you...I can't remember if you received my CD "The Eye of God" so I'm sending the main intro and poem that inspired me to share God's love. Hope you have a wonderful day.
When I wrote The Eye of God I had just received word from my physicians to get my paperwork in order as there was nothing left that they could do for me, and that I had probably less than 3 months to live. You see at the young age of 25, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma with probable metastasis to my brain and liver. Now - 32 years later and a survivor of cancer, I offer this poem as a reflection of hope to all the other people out there who are scared and uncertain of their own outcome after cancer. Of one thing I am crystal clear...
Your destiny is in the hands of God.
Have faith and believe....and never ever give up hope in miracles..

THE EYE OF GOD

It seemed so bleak
and full of pain...
Why not surrender,
what was left to gain?

The prognosis was hopeless
and very grim...
No alternative treatments,
no last ditch plans...

I had fought the good fight
and all solemnly agreed it was
just a matter of time before
I went on into the silence of
cold everlasting night.

When evil left my room
there was a burst of light
so brilliant I sensed the
loving presence of God.
When I looked up I was
peering at the Eyes of God,
and inexplicably I felt
myself calm as I was
overwhelmed by a sense of Peace.

I began to grin...
For I knew at once that
they were all wrong...
God's grace embraced me...
I would win..

Hey, sending our love to you both. We saw Charlie on Saturday night. He looked great. Kenny is so sweet to come see you. Enjoy your visit. Be sure and call Leland if you need anything around the house, I'm sure he's already planning on doing something but he is very handy!! So just call. Can't wait to see you.

Hey Steve. I told my mom about what's going on with you. She said to let you know that she and dad love you and are praying for you. She misses you stopping by the house from time to time. Of course, now that they've moved to South Texas that will be hard to do! Take care man. You're in my thoughts and prayers....Regan

It seems that Satan had a party and no one came! I'm certain that it was The Great Deceiver because as he hovered around the hospital in unrestricted hallways you could feel him. As he passed by each room there were feint cries of despair.
But then an amazing thing happened. When he reached the door of Room 1203 the light was so brilliant inside that he recoiled in agony.
You see, Steve and Sheri were in that room. There was laughter and tears, but not from fear and pain. It was in celebration of Steve's life. My son, Steve, has given his full measure to glorifying our precious Lord. Let us now honor Steve and Sheri by telling their story of unfaltering love and commitment. My precious son wants you to have the incredible gift he found. Love is forever in His heart. Gal 5:6

Steve & Sheri,
I read this during my Bible time this morning. God healed then and He CAN heal now.
2 Kings 20
"In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him: "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.

Much love & prayers,
Tricia

My husband, Michael and I are friends in Christ of Tim and Amy Pace.

We pray this prayer for our brother in Christ, Steve Warren, his wife and family. They will be in our daily prayers.

In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit

One God, now and forever more – Amen!

Lord Jesus, we humbly come before Your Presence and ask for

Your Wisdom and Your Revelation Knowledge about health circumstances

concerning a cancer situation we have with Steve Warren.

We lift Steve Warren up to the Light of Your Holy Countenance

and ask that You would Bless, Preserve, Protect and Defend

Steve Warren against all assaults of the enemy. We pray that

NO weapon formed against him will prosper, and that NO word

spoken against him will come to pass.

Lord Jesus, we don’t know why or how this cancer got into his

body. We do know that You can remove this disease from the body

that You created and restore soundness of mind and replace a healthy

group of cells in his body.

We are in agreement that Steve Warren be covered from the crown

of his head to the soles of his feet with the most precious

Blood of the Lamb of God who is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

Holy Spirit of the Living God, we ask that You would guide the doctors,

nurses, and technicians eyes, hands, and hearts to DO exactly what

needs to be done for all of his medical procedures.

Lord Jesus, You know our hearts’ desire about this situation with Steve Warren

We TRUST Your never failing Love and Care for Steve Warren

We know that Jesus is the Great Physician!

We believe that Jesus can heal – Acts 10:38

We pray together in agreement that Jesus will heal Steve Warren

Above all else we pray as You Lord taught us to pray,

Your Kingdom be establish in my life today, and Your Divine Purpose
be fulfilled through healing Steve Warren of cancer.

Certainly not our will, but Thy Will Be Done!

This we ask of the Father, believing in the Son, by the Power of the

Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever more!

Amen and Amen!

Steve and family, I'm so terribly sorry to learn of your diagnosis and situation. I just discovered your blog through Keller Williams blog. Maybe I can help a bit by voluntarily arranging a lot of publicity about your blog and Keller Williams' fundraising campaign. I'm a professional newsman with many years of marketing and media experience. I've just launched Rockwall County's first daily news/info operation on a website and blog, rather than traditional newspaper, at www.rockwallrocks.com. I'd like to interview you and your wife right away, write a feature story and then arrange for your story to go to the Rockwall area and DFW media. Your attitude is so commendable and your effort to allow God to use it for His glory is wonderful. I can and want to help you to do so. Just call me at 972-900-7575 or email jj@rockwallrocks.com. God bless you and your family, Steve. Let's see what we can do together to do God's will!
